🚗 Travel and transport

How do I get to the conference?
We arrange express buses from both Oslo and Copenhagen arriving on Sunday. In addition, there's an extra bus from Oslo on Monday morning for those who aren't coming the day before. The hotel is located right by the waterfront and just a few minutes' walk from the city center. 

What happens if I arrive late on Sunday?
That's completely fine. Check-in is open throughout the afternoon.

🛏️ Accommodation and rooms

Can I stay at Strömstad Spa?
Yes, you can. You're guaranteed a room if you share with a colleague. Otherwise, you can check your preferred hotel in the registration form. We distribute rooms between Strömstad Spa and Scandic Laholmen, and do our best to accommodate requests.

Can I stay alone in a room?
Yes. Everyone gets their own room included in the price, unless you want to share. You can also choose to share a room with a colleague – please provide the name when registering. Note that there's a better chance of getting a room at Strömstad Spa if you share a room. 

Is there parking at the hotel?
Yes, there's parking at both hotels. There's usually good capacity, but we recommend using shared transport where possible – both for environmental reasons and because it gives a more relaxed start to the stay.

🎟️ Registration and tickets

What's included in the ticket?
Almost everything! The ticket covers the academic program, hotel accommodation, meals, boat trip, theme party, transport from Oslo/Copenhagen, and social activities. The only thing you have to pay for yourself is any drinks in the bar. 

When is the deadline for registration?
As long as there are available spots. Register early to secure your preferred hotel and room type.

Can I change the participant name after booking?
Yes, until three days before the conference. Send us an email with updated details.

What if I have to cancel? 

  • Cancellation before July 1st gives a full refund.
  • After July 1st, no refund is given.
  • You can transfer the ticket to a colleague within three days before the conference.
  • For illness, we recommend using your own travel insurance.

👥 For those registering multiple people

Can I register a group without having all the names ready?
Yes! You can reserve spots and submit names later. We'll send you a reminder.

How does the group discount work?
If you're three or more, you get 2000 kr discount per person. Use discount code GRUPPE when ordering.

Do we get a combined invoice?
Yes. Choose this when you order tickets, or send us an email at dialogkonferansen@bas.no

Can we get meeting rooms during the conference?
We have some meeting rooms available. These can be reserved – first come, first served.

🤝 Practical info for participants

Can I register alone?
Absolutely! Many come alone, and we make sure you get to know new people. Feel free to read the "New to Dialogkonferansen" page for a taste of how we create an inclusive environment from the first moment, with everything from group activities and teamwork to boat trips, yoga, and social evenings. You don't need to know anyone beforehand to have a memorable experience!

What should I pack?
Comfortable clothes, swimwear, something nice for dinner, and preferably a costume for the theme party.

Is there a dress code for the theme party on Monday?
The theme party has a theme each year - we'll let you know well in advance. Dressing up is strongly encouraged, but not required.

Is the food adapted for allergies or needs?
Yes. Specify this in the registration, and we'll take care of the rest.

What happens in the evenings?
Social activities like boat trips, BBQ, DJ, theme party, and mingling in the bar. There's always something to do, or a quiet corner if you prefer that.

Who is the conference suitable for?
