Executive Director and CEO, USA for UNHCR – The Refugee Agency
Supporting the world¹s refugees is an urgent and politically-charged issue. USA for UNHCR¹s Anne-Marie Grey provides a behind-the-scenes look at challenges and best practices involved in building corporate alliances with Google, Kickstarter, Citizens for Humanity and others and engaging consumers though digital marketing and social media on this currently divisive issue.
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. UNHCR works to protect and assist refugees everywhere.
UNHCR employ 11,517 staff members, of whom around 87 per cent are based in the field. They work in 128 countries and are funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions, with 87 per cent from governments and the European Union. Three per cent comes from other inter-governmental organizations and pooled funding mechanisms, while a further nine per cent is from the private sector, including foundations, corporations and the public, and reached a new annual high of US$ 7.7 billion in 2017.
Anne-Marie has been with UNHCR since 2012, and was earlier Vice President, Resource Development for Save the Children and both Chief, International, Corporate Alliances and Vice President Marketing and Development for UNICEF.
